There are several  reasons why you need to quit smoking. Dental problems, cancer and obesity are some health problems associated with smoking. However,  the most essential reasons why you need to quit smoking is to avoid  your child from having eczema.

Parents do not want their children  in this condition. The itching, pain and discomfort are some of the worst part of eczema in children. Your little ones can be  sensitive emotionally. The manner  that eczema makes your skin miserable is apparent, and the manner others care for  them because of eczema, can result in traumatic effect on your child skin that will have lasting implications.

One of the primary causes of eczema is cigarette or cigar smoking. The most popular form of eczema in adult is eyelid eczema. Children usually have smoked induced eczema on their bodies. The reason is that  their skin is sensitive and new as compared to adult skin. Pollution in the air, such as smoke from cigarette will attack the child’s skin and can cause eczema.

Smoking can counter most of the remedies in eczema. Oatmeal baths, moisturizer, natural extracts and  emollient oils can provide eczema relief. However, the efficiency of these treatments is thwarted if smoke in the air  mix  with them. Actually, the smoke can combine with topical treatment and get blocked on the skin that may cause severe damage.

You must stop smoking if you like to keep your child’s skin healthy and stay eczema free. You can talk to your physician  to get all the support and help that you need. If you cannot stop smoking make sure that you smoke outside in a well ventilated areas away from your child. Opening  the window, while smoking  in the car is not enough to prevent your child from having eczema.
