New Astra Hatchback

Astra’s exterior is hatchback in design but has a coupe-like feel.  Its graceful lines are enhanced with upscale touches such as eagle eye-shaped headlamps, a signature wing graphic on the daylight running lights, and  chrome accents.  The blade motif is pressed into the side panel, for a unique look.  Sculpted rear lights and a rear spoiler add to the distinctive silhouette. Astra maintains all the functionality of the hatchback without sacrificing style.

Inside, Astra engineers have provided spaciousness and comfort, with a touch of class.  A wraparound instrument panel, clocks and gauges ringed with chrome, and ambient lighting provide lavish touches.  Adjustable seats have been carefully designed so that occupants can find their ideal level of comfort.  The New Astra also includes some unique storage solutions, in response to customer suggestions.  These include a hard-shelled sunglass case, coin slots and pen holders inside the glove  box lid, and an under-seat drawer.  The centre console offers space for nine CD cases, and an insert for two cup holders. 

Astra has brains as well as beauty.  It includes such features as the FlexRide adaptive damping system which adjusts the  suspension character automatically.  A  rack and pinion steering system offers exceptionally sensitive steering feedback.  The Driving Mode Control module is the electronic brain behind FlexRide. It monitors driving  style and conditions.  Astra’s braking system is exceptional and a four channel Anti-lock Braking System is  standard.  Included as part of New Astra is an array of safety lighting features, such as the adverse weather light, which automatically activates during weather conditions such as rain or snow, and the pedestrian area light, which is activated at low speeds, where caution is required.
