We Encounter Custom License Plates All Day

When you are driving down the road, you will often encounter custom license plates. The majority of the time, you are left scratching your head as to what was really meant by the personalization. It seems like you never can understand the meaning behind it. There are only so many characters available on a license plate, so you are limited as to what statement you can make. And since another person may already have the desired name or saying in your state, you are left to come up with creative spellings to get what you want. Is it really worth it? Years ago, I had wanted to purchase a custom license plate. The exact saying I wanted was not available, so I would have had to come up with some variation to this. I had eventually decided against getting the custom license plate. I knew what the saying meant, and my friends knew the reference, but every other person driving past my car would look at the custom license plate and question what the real meaning of it really was. They would come up with various possible scenarios and make many wrong assumptions as to what the plate really meant. Because of this fact, I decided against it. It really wasn’t worth the extra expense for something that would incorrectly represent what I was hoping to say. Now years later, I am glad I never purchased a custom license plate. I will never get one for my car and still have to wonder what the meaning is behind every custom plate I see.
